The British painter seems to wield her paintbrush with the kind of limber dexterity that's out to violate the medium of oil painting itself, Landscape Painting cascading splashes and stains across the canvas in her unabashed depictions of morbidly-obese women laid naked and vulnerable. Children Painting The Brit's controversial passel of work is being showcased as a retrospective through March 4 at West Palm's Norton Museum of Art, an impressive coup for a painter who only recently plunged into her 40s. Famous Painting Saville's works only stretch from 1992 to present day, and flourished thanks to an extensive education at Glasgow School of the Arts, not to mention financial backing from contemporary art collector Charles Saatchi, who savvily promoted the painter in his "Young British Artists" series. Flower Painting Saville went mainstream after the 1997 exhibit "Sensation: Young British Artists From the Saatchi Collection" provoked unease at Royal Academy of the Arts and later in Brooklyn, N.Y.
