I have had to put a dog down before, but guess what, I didn't fucking smile about it.

Animals cannot commit evil. They do not commit evil. You may not like some of the things that wild animals do, but that does not make it evil. It is instinct.

When a bear kills a man for no apparent reason, does that make it evil? NO - the bear was acting on instinct to survive or defend either itself, it's cubs or it's territory.

When a shark takes a bite out of a human, is it evil? NO - the shark is acting on instinct to survive and the human was a potential food source. Most likely mistaken for a seal. Sharks are curious animals and one of their ways of finding out what you are is to take a bite. It is unfortunte that one bite can possibly kill you, but that does not make the shak evil.

Any act an animal does can be justified by instint or survival, with maybe a few exceptions (animals with rabies perhaps - still not evil). I cannot think of one example of an animal acting "evil".

Evil is a human characteristic, the opposite of "good". It is like "right" and "wrong." Animals do not know right from wrong. They don't know "good" from "evil." They do understand survival.

Not to excuse his acts, but Marines have been trained to kill. They are hardened and they are constantly trying to prove to one another how hard they are. Some are no doubt angry, and some are scared. It is impossible to know what they are going through unless you have been there. However, taking pleasure in killing this dog makes this Marine evil. The inhumane manner in which this dog is killed is what makes him evil. The actual act of killing the animal, for the right reasons, is not in itself evil. There may have been valid reasons to humanely put this animal down. I cannot think of a reason to toss it over a cliff.

The guy who thinks animals can be evil, please give me an example.

On another note, as awful as this act was, I bet you that if he had thrown a Iraqi prisoner over the same cliff the outcry would have been about the same, or less. Being cute goes along way in America!
